Greater Than

Date: Feb. 9, 2017

Author: Dan Bockenfeld

Starting Sunday, February 19, we will be starting a new sermon series based on the book of Hebrews called Greater Than.

The book of Hebrews is not about how God makes his tea. It is a book written to show the supremacy of Jesus, that Jesus is greater than anything and anyone. The book presents Jesus as the full and final revelation of God and that anything that was written before was a mere shadow in comparison.

In the Old Testament, God set up rules and traditions to get people to come to him, but Jesus is the fulfillment of those rules and the perfect embodiment of them. We don't need to seek anything other than Jesus for our salvation because Jesus is simply greater than them all.

In this sermon series, let us investigate the many ways that Jesus is the greater than any person, greater than any ritual, greater than any place, and greater than word ever spoken.
