We would like to welcome back all the students from IIT, Vandercook, Shimer, and ICO. We’ve been having a great summer as we have been continuing through the book of Acts, but our worship services have been lacking your youthfulness. We heartedly welcome you back and want to know that we are here for you and would love to walk the road of faith with you.
We know how it can be, it wasn’t that long ago that we too were students. It was sixteen years ago in 1998 that I began my college career at IIT, and I can remember that it was my first time really being away from my parents and family. It was the first time that I was on my own. It was both very exciting and a little frightening. I had never even done my own laundry before, but now it was all up to me.
Now we might not help you with your laundry, but we are here to encourage and help you grow in your faith in Jesus. Actually, if you ask nicely enough, we might even help out with the laundry. Being a Christian is not a road that you are supposed to walk alone. Christianity is a community of believers building each other up through mutual edification. The old encourage the young and the young encourage the old.
So whether you have been walking the road with Christ for a while, just started to take a few steps or even are just curious about Jesus, we would like to invite you to our Sunday Worship in the Godbox or otherwise known as Carr Chapel, which is just north of MSV at roughly 32nd and Michigan. We would love to have you stop by and we usually have lunch afterwards.
We hope to meet you. God bless.
