Date: Oct. 22, 2014
The International Day of Prayer (IDOP) began in 1996. Since then, every year the first two weeks in November are set aside to remember and pray for persecuted Christians around the world. It is estimated that over 200 million Christians suffer persecution because of their faith in Jesus Christ. Their primary request is for prayer. During IDOP, millions of Christians worldwide join together collectively to pray for their brothers and sisters who are suffering.
In the book of Hebrews, the concluding exhortations begin with, “Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering (Heb 13:3).” Since 2010, we have hosted prayer meetings in the Godbox at IIT to remember and intercede for our persecuted brothers and sisters around the world. Join us this Sunday, November 9, 2014 for a special prayer session for the persecuted church after our regular service. Refreshments will be provided. Prayer topics, brief videos and reports will be presented, along with time set aside to pray.
