First, why do we give thanks to the Lord? (1-9) Only God is good and is worthy of our thanks and praise. God's love endures forever. The greatest display of God's unchanging love is Jesus on the cross, for while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Ro 5:8b) God has done great things. He made the heavens and the earth for all of us and gave each of us life. Our Creator God is greater than all other powers. Let's give our Creator thanks and praise.
Second, give thanks for what God has done for his people (10-26). God delivered his people, out of slavery by the Passover. He brought them through the Red Sea. He sustained them for 40 years. God trained them until they could enter the Promised Land. He upholds and sustains us, leading us to himself and his Kingdom. Let us give thanks to God our Redeemer and Deliverer. May people, everywhere, acknowledge the God of the Bible as the God of gods and Lord of lords and give thanks to him. May we live in his love with thanksgiving in our hearts each and every day.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for your enduring love. I set my heart to seek, dwell in, and proclaim your love.
