Date: Oct. 11, 2015
Psalm 29:1-11 (ESV)
Key Verse: 29:2
First, ascribe to the LORD glory (1-2). Our God is glorious beyond compare. He alone is worthy of all our worship. We worship Him in the splendor of His holiness. The chief characteristic of God is His holiness. There is no one like our God. Praise His holy name!
Second, the voice of the LORD is powerful (3-9). The voice of the LORD thundered in the beginning: "Let there be light." And there was light. The voice of the LORD has the power to create and recreate. The voice of the LORD is powerful and majestic breaking the cedars of Lebanon. His voice can melt away all my unbelief. Let's listen to His voice with simple childlike faith and teach His word trusting in its power to break sin and give life.
Third, the LORD is our Eternal King (10-11). The LORD sits enthroned forever. He blesses us and gives us peace. He made peace for us through the cross of Jesus.
Prayer: Lord, I worship you in the splendor of your holiness. Let me hear your voice today and follow and obey.
One Word: Worship the LORD in His holiness
