1. Tyre's glee turns to woe (1-5)
Tyre was an island fortress with a mainland harbor, and a major seaport and economic trade route. Like Ammon and Moab, Tyre rejoiced at Jerusalem's fall, so she could prosper more. The Sovereign LORD declared otherwise. Tyre would become plunder for the nations and ravaged by the sword. Then they would know who is the LORD.
2. You will be no more (6-21)
God repeated these last words for Tyre (26:21; 27:36; 28:19). God would bring Babylon's army against Tyre to destroy them. Their songs would go silent. They would become a bare rock. Local princes would be appalled and lament how Tyre had terrorized others, but now lay fallen. History tells us that Babylon besieged Tyre for 15 years and about 250 years later Alexander the Great completely destroyed Tyre.
Prayer: Prayer: Lord, you are sovereign over nations. Help us to seek your favor ahead of prosperity.
One Word: Seek God's favor, not worldly prosperity
