Jacob’s Blessings and Prophecies
Genesis 49:1-28
Key Verse: 49:10
Date: Jul. 12, 2019
What is God?
God is a spirit, whose being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth are infinite, eternal, and unchangeable.
1
15 “Therefore watch yourselves very carefully. Since you saw no form on the day that the LORD spoke to you at Horeb out of the midst of the fire, 16 beware lest you act corruptly by making a carved image for yourselves, in the form of any figure, the likeness of male or female, 17 the likeness of any animal that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged bird that flies in the air, 18 the likeness of anything that creeps on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the water under the earth. 19 And beware lest you raise your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, you be drawn away and bow down to them and serve them, things that the LORD your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.
39 See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”
18 No one has ever seen God; God the only Son, who is at the Father’s side, he has made him known.
24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth.”
29 Being then God’s offspring, we ought not to think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination of man.

14 God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM.” And he said, “Say this to the people of Israel: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”
2 Why should the nations say,
“Where is their God?”
3 Our God is in the heavens;
he does all that he pleases.
17 To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
15 which he will display at the proper time—he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords, 16 who alone has immortality, who dwells in unapproachable light, whom no one has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen.

24 O LORD, how manifold are your works!
In wisdom have you made them all;
the earth is full of your creatures.
5 Great is our Lord, and abundant in power;
his understanding is beyond measure.
33 Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!
34 “For who has known the mind of the Lord,
or who has been his counselor?”
13 And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.
20 for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything.

1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless,
11 Once God has spoken;
twice have I heard this:
that power belongs to God,
