First, God is our refuge (1-7). God is our refuge, strength and ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we should fear nothing though tsunamis, earth quakes and many natural disasters arise everywhere. If God is within us, the spring of living water overflows from within us. Though nations and kingdoms rise and fall, the Sovereign God is with us. He is our fortress, therefore we will not fear.
Second, "Come and see the works of God" (8-11). Our God brings the desolation on earth. He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth and peace is in his hands. What should we do? God says, "Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations in the earth." We should come and see and know this Almighty God. We should fear nothing but only exalting God who is with us as our fortress.
Prayer: Praise the Lord who is the ruler of all the nations and all nature. Be still my soul. Come and see God's work.
One Word: God is our fortress!
