Your Throne Will Last Forever

Date: Dec. 10, 2015

Passage

Psalm 45:1-17  (ESV)

Daily Bread

Key Verse: 45:6

Second, "You are the most excellent" (1-8). This is a royal wedding song. It is also a messianic psalm for King Jesus. He is described as a mighty, majestic bridegroom and the most excellent of men. His lips are full of grace. He fights for truth, humility and justice. His word is like a double-edged sword and sharp arrows that pierce the enemies' heart. He rules with justice and righteousness. He hates wickedness. Therefore God made his throne last forever.

Second, "Forget your people" (9-17). In the Old Testament God was likened to a husband for Israel. In the New Testament the church is the bride of Jesus. The bride must forget her people and her father's house. She must honor him as her Lord. The bride is glorious. She will enter the palace of the king and will be led with joy and gladness. The king's bride will have many descendants. The nations will praise her forever and ever.

Prayer: Praise our Lord, everlasting king! Help us forget our past life. Let us live a life worthy as his bride till we enter his kingdom with joy and live forever with him.

One Word: Jesus, the mighty king!
