God's Will for Us

First, give thanks in all circumstances (16-18). When we look back over 2015 we only see innumerous disastrous events, our mistakes, faults and not so fruitful life. Yet God has been with us turning all into good for his glory and for our sake. Surely no one can rejoice always, yet the Lord enables us to rejoice always in the Lord. He made us pray continually instead of worrying and complaining in so many impossible situations. Now we thank God who enables us to give thanks in all circumstances. We know this is God's will for us, heavenly citizens in Christ Jesus.
Second, do not quench the spirit (19-28). We should also not treat the word of God with contempt. Rather we should keep hold on to what is good and reject every kind of evil. We are sure that our faithful God will keep sanctifying us through and through in 2016 and coming years till our whole being, spirit, mind and body be blameless at the coming of Jesus Christ.
Prayer: Lord, let me rejoice always, pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances according to your will. Make me holy and pure day by day through and through till you come again.
