Leviticus 6:24-7:10 (ESV)

Leviticus 6:24-7:10 (ESV)
Key Verse: 7:7
First, sin offering regulations (6:24-30). The sin offering was slaughtered before the Lord. The priest ate it in the courtyard of the tent of meeting. Blood had to be washed off garments, scoured out of bronze pots, and could never be eaten. Clay pots that cooked sin offerings could only be used once. These offerings were holy. The priests were holy. The tent of meeting was holy. God is holy, holy, holy.
Second, guilt offering regulations (7:1-10). Earlier, 5:14-6:7 described when guilt offerings had to be made. This passage explains how they were made by the priests. The place was always the tent of meeting. Blood was splashed on the altar sides. The fat was all burned up, as a symbolic food offering to the Lord. It was holy, so only a holy priest could eat it in the holy place. The priest could keep the skins of burnt offering. The grain offerings, often accompanying sin or guilt offerings, belonged to the priests. This was the Lord's provision for his servants (1Co 9:13-14).
Prayer: Lord, you are holy. Set me apart as your holy child and servant, by your grace through Jesus Christ.
One Word: We serve a holy God
