2 Chronicles 30:1-27 (ESV)
Key Verse: 30:1
First, all invited to remember the Passover (1-14). Hezekiah invited all the people to Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover. To give time for priests to consecrate themselves and for people to gather, it was postponed one month. In his letter, Hezekiah is urging his people to return to the Lord. Practical repentance would be to come up to the Passover in obedience to God's word. Many mocked, but some came, clearing out altars in Jerusalem.
Second, not a legal duty but a joyful celebration (15-27). The Passover was a time to remember God's saving grace. It was not celebrated legalistically. People repented and worshiped the LORD with great joy. They became of one mind and heart. Jesus instituted the Lord's Supper so we may remember and celebrate his saving grace.
Prayer: Father, thank you for your saving grace in Jesus.
One Word: Remember God's grace
Acts 8:26-40
