Why Did You Bring Me out of the Womb?

Date: Feb. 10, 2015

Passage

Job 10:1-22  (ESV)

Daily Bread

Key Verse: 10:18

First, I loathe my very life (1-17). Out of suffering and pain Job loathed his very life. He gave free reign to his complaint but only before God. It was his prayer. It came from his sincere and endless efforts seeking God and the truth. He thought God was charging him even though he was guiltless and innocent. He wondered whether God was pleased to oppress him while smiling on the wicked. He wondered why God seems to search out his faults and sins?

Second, Turn away from me (18-22). Job recognizes that God created him, molded him, clothed him with skin and flesh, knitted him together with bones, gave him life, showed him kindness and watched over his spirit in God's providence. He knew God would not ignore him when he sins but would punish him. Still, Job had some unanswered questions about why God gave him life before he goes to the place of no return.

Prayer: Lord, you made us in your image that until we meet you personally our agony will not cease.

One Word: You created me for your glory!
