Job 12:1-25 (ESV)
Key Verse: 12:13
First, it seems those who provoke God are secure... (1-6) Job knew his innocence, his good relationship with God as righteous and blameless. To him God answered when he called. Yet he now became a laughingstock to his friends. They were at ease and had contempt for the misfortunes of Job whose feet are slipping. It seems that those who provoke God are secure and the godly are the ones suffering.
Second, what he tears down cannot be rebuilt (7-25). God is the sovereign Creator. All his creatures, the earth, the sea, the animals, the bird and the fish teach us that the Lord has done all this. In his hand are the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind. To God belong wisdom and power. What he tears down cannot be rebuilt. If he holds back the waters, there is drought. To him belong strength and insight. He establishes kings and overthrows officials long established. He has all authority and power. He makes nations great and destroys them. He is the sovereign ruler.
Prayer: Lord, you are the sovereign authority.
One Word: To the Lord belong all wisdom and power.
Acts 8:26-40
