Daily Bread

After He Tested Me, I Will Come Forth As Gold

Date: Apr. 7, 2015

Passage

Job 23:1-17  (ESV)

Daily Bread

Key Verse: 23:10b

First, he knows the way that I take (1-12). Job's complaints were not toward anyone but God. He was struggling with God like Jacob in Jabbok river. His agony was greater, for God did not answer his many questions. He was sure that the Lord would not oppose him vigorously or press charges against him. He believed that God would deliver him forever from his judge. But Job couldn't find God anywhere. One thing he was sure was that God knows the way that he takes and when God has tested him, he will come forth as gold. Job's conscience tells how much he tried to live up to God's commands treasuring God's word more than his daily bread.

Second, but he stands alone (13-17) Job thought he was right but he admits God's sovereignty. God stands alone and no one can oppose him for he does whatever he pleases. He carries out his plan and still has unknown plan for Job. Therefore, a holy fear terrified him yet his hope was in God who would vindicate him.

Prayer: Lord, help me to acknowledge you as the Lord Almighty Savior in whatever situation.

One Word: Acknowledge God with holy fear!
