Job 28:1-28 (ESV)
Key Verse: 28:28
First, wisdom is the most precious thing (1-19). People are very smart, wise and hard working. They know how to search, seek and find lapis lazuli and other precious jewels within the deep and dark earth. But where can wisdom be found? Wisdom is harder to find than any jewels. The price of wisdom is beyond rubies, topaz and all other jewels. No mortal comprehends its worth.
Second, where then does wisdom come from? (20-28) It is hidden from the eyes of every living being. However, God understands the way to it. He alone knows where it dwells. God views the ends of the earth. He sees everything under the heavens. He created the heavens and the earth with his wisdom and with his word, Jesus! God reveals to the human race, "The fear of the Lord-that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding."
Prayer: Lord, thank you for revealing the most precious wisdom to us sinners. Let me fear the Lord, the source of wisdom, and shun evil.
One Word: Fear the Lord, shun evil!
Acts 10:17-35
