Job 29:1-25 (ESV)
Key Verse: 29:2
First, when God's intimate friendship blessed his house (1-6). Job remembers and wishes those days of intimate friendship with the Lord might still be with him. The Almighty God watched over him, his lamp shone on his head. By his light he walked through darkness. God blessed him and his children abundantly with cream and streams of olive oil. But now, alas, all those good days are gone!
Second, when he comforted mourners (7-25). Job was once highly respected by the young and old, the chief and the noble men. Whoever heard him spoke well of him. It was because Job rescued the poor, the fatherless, the widow and the stranger who cried for help. With righteousness and justice he became eyes to the blind and feet to the lame. He broke the fangs of the wicked and snatched the victims from their teeth. Job once thought he would live such a life forever as a king among the people. But the good days are gone!
Prayer: Lord, the time with you is the best time. Though we feel sometimes the good days are gone, but it is not. Our Father God still loves and cares for us!
One Word: The good days are not gone!
Acts 10:17-35
