Exodus 30:1-21 (ESV)
Key Verse: 30:6
First, burn fragrant incense every morning and at twilight (1-10). This altar was different from the bronze altar. After the blood sacrifice, the door was opened for the priest to approach God through burning the specially made fragrant incense. This represents the intercessory prayer, which reaches to God. Jesus is our high priest who prays day and night before the Holy God in heaven.
Second, basin for washing (11-21). Every person, regardless of his human condition, should offer the assigned money for his life since every person is a sinner who needs to be atoned. Rich or poor, each pays equally for everyone's life is equally precious before God. Jesus had to pay for each of us not with a small amount of atonement money but with his own life. The basin was to wash the hands and the feet of the priests before entering the Tent of Meeting. The priest must wash himself first to be the mediator between God and Israelites.
Prayer: Prayer: Lord, help me to make intercessory prayer that like a fragrant incense before God. Thank you for Jesus who sacrificed himself to make atonement for each of us.
