The Tabernacle

Date: Mar. 13, 2016

Passage

Exodus 35:30-36:38  (ESV)

Daily Bread

Key Verse: 35:35

First, Bezalel and Oholiab (35:30-36:7). God chose Bezalel and Oholiab. He filled them with his Spirit, skill and knowledge in all kinds of crafts. God also gave them the ability to teach others. All the people kept bringing more than enough for doing the work that Moses had to stop them bringing anymore. May God make us like Bezalel and Oholiab to carry out God's redemptive history in our generation.

Second, the tabernacle (4-29). The tabernacle was God's mobile dwelling place to go with his people who were traveling in the wilderness. God later came as Immanuel Jesus to dwell in us in our pilgrimage. Its outside was made of rough goat hair but the inside was utterly beautiful. Immanuel Jesus, God's tabernacle, had no beauty or majesty in his appearance like a root out of dry ground. Yet he was the glorious God in reality. The inner curtain that was allowed only for the high priest once a year was ripped by Jesus' death on the cross. Jesus opened the way for all men to come to God.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for coming to dwell among us. Let me have the character of Jesus. Let me come to you boldly through Jesus' blood.

One Word: Jesus, God with us
